All you need to know about the Brooklyn Half
This race is the biggest half marathon in the country. If the weather cooperates this is a PR friendly course. The first 3 miles are mostly downhill with a little bump at mile 1. The one major hill on the course starts around mile 5, stay steady and get over it. Once your over the hill your going to be tempted to fly on the downhill between mile markers 6 and 7. Just be consistent here and maintain your Half Marathon effort, the course will start to flatten out and now its time to get into a rhythm. If your running right the first 9.5 should feel good, and at mile 10 is where you have to start doing the gut check. You will feel like you're slowing but you just have to keep digging to maintain that pace to the end. Look on the bright side there is only a 5k left.
